What does your team do at On?
We manage the overall marketing campaign planning and execution for product launches. This means having a 360° view of everything On does. We bring value and make sure there's consistency to what we do; increasing work between departments and ensuring speed and quality.
What On teams do you work closely with?
We’re a joint team together with the Social Media and Content team. We work with all departments in Marketing (Design, Events, PR, Sports Marketing, E-commerce and Digital Marketing) and we’re also in touch with the Sales and Supply Chain teams when campaign planning too. When working on a campaign the most important thing is to get everyone onboard and making sure that we are working towards a common goal.
How is your team different from counterparts in other companies?
We’re given a lot of freedom and there's no set way of doing things. We’re always open to new ideas and we’re more than happy to change tactics if there’s a better way. I love working like this, it brings out your creativity and out of the box thinking!
What can you tell us about your team members?
We are a very international team. Everyone is sporty and we all have backgrounds in different industries. We have a real mix of creatives and project managers, so there are lot of ideas and we all have the drive to make things happen. I’m biased but we’re a friendly bunch too!__
What is a typical day at work like?
We have lots of meetings, catch-ups, brainstorming sessions and talks. We interview new people, have calls with potential partners and make visits for upcoming campaign activations. There’s almost always some kind of lunch activity too – be it running, HIIT training or yoga.
What’s one thing your team achieved last year that you are proud of?
The team has a really enthusiastic attitude - so it feels like nothing is impossible. Looking back, I'm proud of all the great campaigns we launched and the teamwork that went into creating them.
How do you celebrate success as a team? And how do you have fun as a team?
We’ll go for team dinners and crack some pretty good jokes from time to time - at least, we think so! We find the fun in our daily work, so there’s a lot of laughing in general.
What is a must for someone who joins the team?
Open-mindedness is important. As is creativity, drive and a willingness to work with others. We always welcome new staff with breakfast and then a lunch run. Some think this is because we want to know how fast they are but it's really just about the fun of running as a group.
What is one piece of advice you'd give to a new team member?
Stay curious and ask a lot of questions during the first few months. After three months, you aren't a new On employee anymore!
