What does your team do at On?
We set the ground for the business to take the right decisions to grow internationally. We also ensure compliance (statutory, tax, legal) wherever we do business in the world.
What On teams do you work closely with?
Honestly, we are linked to every other On team. Never Not On? More like Never Not Finance!
How is your team different from counterparts in other companies?
We start all our thinking with the goal of walking new paths in mind. We are always looking for automation and, as much as possible, we use state of the art tools.
What can you tell us about your team members?
We have a 50/50 split in terms of men and women, and we're spread out all over the world. Like most teams at On, we enjoy being active occasionally and team members get up to lots of fun things like running, climbing, cycling, yoga and swimming. We also like eating chocolate - does that count as an activity?
What is a typical day at work like?
Whatever we’re doing, the first task is to form a plan of attack. It helps when we have to deal with unexpected issues, rush to meet deadlines, coordinate with international colleagues etc. Other than this, we see our daily business as a never-ending challenge. We want to keep learning and improving.
What is one thing your team achieved last year that you are proud of?
In the past year, we've seen an increase in our international growth, so that's great. It’s also allowed us to enter markets in Brazil and China, so we were all very happy with that.
How do you celebrate success as a team? And how do you have fun as a team?
Lots of chocolate! We also go for beers at the end of the week to let off a little steam.
What is a must for someone who joins the team?
A passion for your area of expertise and what you do is vital. We like people to think ahead rather than just reacting if possible. Of course, being highly motivated is important too.
What is one piece of advice you'd give to a new team member?
Be prepared to leave your comfort zone and willing to accept challenges.
