An exciting new role has just become available at On Vietnam. Being an Lightning Footwear Developer, you will be responsible for leading how On translates our footwear innovation work to athlete footwear products and will also be responsible for working directly with the broader product teams to create high-quality prototypes and samples.

Your Mission

  • Executing footwear development from start to finish for all On’s Athlete- focused products
  • Oversee fabrication and assembly of materials and components using almost any type of machinery and hand tool, including (but not limited to) machines for cutting, injecting, sanding, buffing, sewing, welding, pressing, additive manufacturing and lasting.
  • Develop to a project timeline and create clear communication between HQ development teams and suppliers
  • Ability to kickoff footwear projects with suppliers and work with them to steer development process when needed
  • Demonstrated experience with tooling and different molding processes
  • Drive prototype and testing with HQ teams in Zurich - both wear and lab testing.

Your story

  • More than 05 years of footwear-specific experience, performance footwear experience preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in traditional footwear manufacturing processes – injecting, cutting, sewing, welding, machining, laser cutting, construction, prototyping. Excellent understanding of pattern and shoe construction with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Expert in commercialising new technology and leading manufacturing scaling, costing and testing. Understanding of compounds at a general level 
  • Excellent communication skills, in both English and Vietnamese, and comfort adapting communication style between cross-functional partners at all levels
  • Ability to work independently under a deadline on several projects simultaneously requiring both innovative ideas and engineering problem-solving. Exemplify a high tolerance for ambiguity and solution-focused attitude
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time

Joining the Innovation Team at On and you will be a part of an agile and interdisciplinary team of experts in the areas of engineering and sports science.
