The world’s fastest-growing running brand seeks a Portland-based Head of Accounting & Reporting for the North America (US, CA) and LATAM region across all channels (Ecom, Retail, and Wholesale). In this role, you will be the financial backbone of our regional teams and interact/collaborate with our Group Accounting & Reporting team at our Headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland. You will directly lead the Accounting & Reporting teams in the Americas region, work closely with the central CoE and shared services teams, and report to the regional CFO. The expected continued fast growth of On and its regional footprint will require strong strategic, analytical, tactical, and leadership skills while providing ample personal and professional development opportunities. Your Mission

  • Directly lead the Accounts Receivables/Payables, General Ledger, and Tax team
  • Ensure the proper financial accounting as well as the timely and compliant month, quarterly and year-end closing & reporting process for all our US, CAN, and LATAM entities in accordance with Group accounting policies (IFRS) and local GAAP
  • Oversee the collection and dunning procedures, customer’s finance-related requests, report to sales and management, credit limits, and risky debtors
  • Manage tax filings across all states and oversee external tax consultants
  • Manage local bank relationships and work with global HQ on local financing, transfer pricing, custom requirements, etc. and handle local authorities accordingly
  • Own, enhance and/or develop internal controls in accordance with Group requirements in a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls environment, ensuring up-to-date process and controls documentation
  • Lead and/or contribute to exciting projects and ad hoc tasks in a highly challenging growth environment

Your story

  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience in accounting and reporting, including leadership responsibility – work experience at a US public company is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or business or equivalent experience - Master’s degree or having a CPA license is a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting and reporting processes
  • Strong accounting and finance background with a good understanding of local legal requirements (US, CA, LATAM is a plus)
  • Strategic, analytical and problem-solving mindset and able to work independently and/or with cross-functional teams
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in developing and leading high-performing teams
  • Understands stakeholder needs and requirements in a fast-changing environment with ability to deal with deadlines and delivering based on priorities
  • Entrepreneurial and results-driven mindset with strong hands-on execution and decision making skills
