On is seeking an experienced Editorial Copywriter to join its growing Copywriting Team. The ideal candidate has a background in journalism, ideally with sports and/or fashion publications. Bringing a proven ability to sniff out a story, you’ll identify opportunities for compelling storytelling content from our rapidly growing communities of athletes, artists and innovators – and beyond. With a keen ability for understanding audience needs, you’ll craft engaging long-form pieces for our online and offline channels – including OFF Magazine. No stranger to deadlines, you’ll feel at home in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, and confident creating high-quality editorial content to tight deadlines.
The Brand Communications team is one of the most exciting places in the business to be. We’re always striving to find innovative ways to evolve our campaigns and storytelling across multiple channels – and we’ve won a ton of awards in the process. Members of the team are based in London, Zurich, Berlin and Portland, but we do a good job of staying connected across the timezones.
Ideate, research, and write stories for the On website and OFF Magazine
Track down opportunities for culturally relevant editorial content that supports the On mission
Work closely with colleagues across On to get ahead of story opportunities emerging from brand campaigns and our partners and communities
Identify and commission specialist freelance writers, providing a clear brief and guidance throughout the editing process
Work with the Brand Design team to ensure art and design maximize the impact of written content
- Native English speaker
Minimum four years’ experience as a journalist, ideally for sports and/or fashion media or a sports, lifestyle and/or outdoor brand
A confident long-form writer with a varied toolbox of narrative devices, you have an understanding of how to take company communications and evolve them into engaging storytelling
An experienced interviewer, you’re able to obtain fresh angles and standout soundbites from conversations with athletes, artists or the On leadership team
An understanding of online and offline journalism – and the considerations for each
You’re creatively minded, solution oriented and excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
You have an editor’s eye and excellent grammar skills
You’re confident working with senior stakeholders from multiple departments
